Transpose CSV Online

Flip rows into columns and columns into rows, for when data arrives the wrong way round for the chart or the import you need it for.

Frequently asked questions

What does transposing actually do?

Turns the first row into the first column and vice versa, so a table that ran wide across the page now runs down it.

When do I need this?

Most often when a report exports periods as columns and your chart or import expects one row per period. Flipping is quicker than rebuilding the export.

What if rows have different lengths?

Short rows are padded, so the result is rectangular. Check the ragged edge afterwards, since it usually means the source had a parsing problem.

Does it handle a header row?

The header becomes the first column after the flip, which is normally what you want. Remove it beforehand if the target expects headerless data.
