CSV to Excel Converter Online

Turn CSV rows into a file Excel opens with the columns already split, avoiding the import wizard and the mangled dates it usually produces.

How to use

  1. Paste or drop the CSV rows.
  2. Check the parsed column split.
  3. Download the Excel-compatible file.

Frequently asked questions

Why not just rename the file to .xlsx?

Because that is a lie about the format and Excel will refuse it. The contents have to be written in something Excel actually parses.

Will my dates survive?

Better than through the import wizard, which reinterprets them against your locale. Check any column that could be read as either day-month or month-day.

What about leading zeros?

Values such as postcodes and product codes lose leading zeros when Excel guesses them as numbers. Formatting the column as text before pasting is the reliable fix.

Does the file get uploaded?

No. The conversion is done in the page, which matters because a CSV export is usually the least redacted copy of your data.
