Frequently asked questions

Why PNG rather than JPG?

It is lossless, so the frame you get is exactly what the decoder produced. That matters if you are going to crop, key or composite it afterwards.

How do I get every frame?

Set the interval to match the source frame rate. Be warned that a minute of 30 fps footage is 1800 lossless images and a lot of memory.

Are the files numbered?

Yes, in timestamp order, so the sequence can be fed straight back into the images to video tool or into an editor.

Does the export match the video resolution?

It does, frames come out at the encoded size. Resize afterwards rather than expecting the export to upscale.
