Frequently asked questions

What does the multiplier do to length?

It divides it. A 60 second clip at 4x runs 15 seconds; the same clip at 0.25x runs four minutes.

Does the audio pitch change?

No. The audio is time-stretched rather than resampled, so voices stay at their own pitch even at 2x.

Why does extreme slow motion look juddery?

Because there are no extra frames to show. Slowing 30 fps footage to a quarter speed leaves roughly 7 distinct frames per second; smooth slow motion needs a high frame rate source.

Is 4x enough for a timelapse?

For tidying a long take, yes. A real timelapse needs a much bigger factor, so extract frames at an interval and rebuild them with the images to video tool.
