What is dimensional weight?
A billed weight derived from the box size rather than the scale. Carriers charge on whichever is greater, so a light bulky parcel costs like a heavy one.
How is dimensional weight worked out?
Length times width times height, divided by a divisor the carrier publishes. The divisor differs between carriers and between domestic and international services.
Why is my quote different from the carrier's?
Fuel surcharges, residential delivery fees and customs handling all get added at booking. Treat this as a planning figure rather than a final price.
How do I cut shipping cost?
Use a smaller box. Because of dimensional weight, taking two centimetres off every side often saves more than removing packaging weight.
