Frequently asked questions

How do I resize an image to an exact size in pixels?

Drop the image, type the width you need, and the height follows automatically while the ratio lock is on. Turn the lock off to type both numbers independently, then download.

How do I resize an image without stretching it?

Keep the aspect-ratio lock enabled. It recomputes the other side from the original proportions, so the picture never squashes. Stretching only happens when the lock is off and the two numbers disagree with the source ratio.

Does resizing reduce image quality?

Shrinking discards pixels and the result stays sharp. Enlarging invents pixels and softens edges, so going past the original size is a trade-off. The estimated output size updates as you change the numbers.

Is the image uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is decoded and redrawn with the Canvas API inside your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, so it also works with the network off once the page has loaded.
