Frequently asked questions
Do I get one file or one per page?
One JPG per page, numbered in document order, so you can pick out the pages you need rather than splitting a combined image afterwards.
Why is text a bit soft?
JPG is lossy and smears hard edges, which is exactly what type is made of. For pages with text or line art, PDF to PNG keeps the edges crisp.
Can I choose the resolution?
Pages render at a fixed scale chosen to stay readable without producing enormous files. For print resolution, export PNG and resample it afterwards.
Does it work on a scanned PDF?
Yes. A scan is already images inside a PDF wrapper, so the render just hands those pages back as JPGs.
