Remove EXIF Metadata from Images

Redraw a photo without its EXIF block, dropping GPS coordinates, camera model, and capture time before you post it. The pixels stay untouched.

Upload a file to get started. Processing runs entirely in your browser.

How to use

  1. Drop the photo whose metadata you want gone.
  2. Click Process to redraw it without the EXIF block.
  3. Download the stripped image.

Frequently asked questions

What exactly gets removed?

The whole EXIF block: GPS coordinates, camera make and model, lens, exposure settings, capture timestamp, and any serial number the camera wrote.

Are the pixels changed?

The image is redrawn to a fresh canvas, so it is re-encoded. Visually it is the same picture; byte for byte it is a new file with no metadata attached.

Do social networks not strip this already?

Most do on upload, but not all, and it does not help with a file you send by email, message or cloud link. Strip it before it leaves your machine.

Can I check what was in there first?

Use the EXIF viewer to read the metadata, then come back here to remove it. Worth doing once so you know what your camera has been recording.
