How do I crop an image to an exact size?
Type the width and height you want into the numeric fields under the preview. The selection box redraws to match, and you can then drag it to the part of the photo you want to keep.
Can I crop to a square or a 16:9 ratio?
Yes. Pick 1:1, 4:3, 16:9, or 3:2 from the ratio menu. The selection then keeps that shape while you drag a corner handle. Choose Free to crop to any shape.
Does cropping lose quality?
The kept pixels are copied at full resolution, so nothing is scaled or blurred. Saving as JPEG re-encodes the crop, which is why PNG is offered for a lossless result.
Is my photo uploaded to a server?
No. The image is decoded and cropped with the Canvas API on your own device, and the file never leaves the browser tab.
