Frequently asked questions

Which styles are supported?

APA 7th edition and MLA 9th edition. Between them they cover most coursework requirements in the sciences and the humanities.

What if a field is missing?

Leave it empty and the reference is built without it, following the style's rule for that case, such as moving the title forward when there is no author.

Does it format in-text citations too?

The output is the reference list entry. In-text form follows from it: author and year for APA, author and page for MLA.

Do I still need to check it?

Yes. Automatic formatting is only as good as what you type, and edge cases such as corporate authors or edited collections are worth eyeballing.
