Which days count as business days?
Monday to Friday. Saturdays and Sundays are excluded from the total, which is the standard definition in most commercial contracts.
Are public holidays excluded?
No. Holidays vary by country and by state, so they are not deducted. Subtract the ones that fall in your range yourself.
Is the start date included?
The count runs between the two dates. For an SLA that starts the day after a ticket is opened, use the following day as your start.
Why does this matter for payment terms?
Because net 30 in business days is six weeks on the calendar, not one month. Contracts that say working days need counting rather than estimating.
